Biography
Authentic, compassionate, uniquely gifted, and organic are only a few words that describe the ministry of Archbishop Devin D. Owens, Sr. He is a Five-Fold Ministry gift to the Body of Christ with a profound mantle of prayer and intercession.
Archbishop Devin D. Owens is the Founding Senior Pastor of Empowerment Church with locations in Yonkers, New York; Brooklyn, New York; and Bridgeport, Connecticut. He is the Metropolitan Archbishop presiding over ECOBAL (Ecumenical Council of Bishops and Apostolic Leadership), an institution of higher learning for the Episcopacy and Apostolic gifts.
Known as a preacher's preacher and named a General of Prayer, Archbishop Owens is a third-generation saint of the Church of God in Christ. He was ordained as an Elder in the Churches of the First Born under the leadership of the late Bishop M.J. Ellis in 1997. He began pastoring his first church in 1999.
In November of that same year, he joined the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship under the leadership of Presiding Bishop Paul S. Morton and was appointed State Director of Protocol from 2000 to 2003. He was later appointed to pastor the first Full Gospel Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2004. Archbishop Owens was consecrated as a Bishop on July 14, 2014.
Archbishop Owens is the author of The Red Book: Excellence in Ministry and Marketplace.
Archbishop Owens is impacting the world through multiple platforms, including Empowerment Church, ECOBAL, social media outlets, and extensive travel ministry. Wherever God sends him, he carries messages of deliverance, hope, redemption, purpose, and victory through Jesus Christ. His platform transcends racial, social, and economic barriers, and he continues to touch lives internationally through his daily 7:00 AM Sweet Hour of Prayer Global Broadcast, where he shares powerful messages of restoration, revival, and redemption.
Archbishop Owens is the proud father of two sons, Caleb and Devin Jr., and the husband of Pastor Nadine Owens, who serves in ministry alongside him. He and his family reside in Connecticut.
